“A four million-dollar indoor tennis court is being built in Missoula. Construction is set to begin next week on five indoor tennis courts and six indoor racquetball courts. The courts are being built off of Highway 93, adjacent to the Peak Health and Wellness Center. A spokesperson at the Peak says they felt there was a strong need for the indoor courts. He said they hope member dues and leasing time to the University Tennis teams will pay for the facility. Members of the Missoula tennis community have been working for the past year and a half to bring a new facility to Missoula. They were forced to give up winter play after the Missoula Athletic Club closed down. Margot Belden, the president of the Garden City Tennis Association says she’s thrilled to have winter tennis back in Missoula. She said she drove down to Hamilton last year to play. Belden says The Peak told them they might be able to get on the courts this February. The health club will hold an open house next Friday, September 18th.”
