Merritt Athletic Clubs Announcing Partnership with Michael Phelps Swim School

“Merritt Athletic Clubs and the Michael Phelps Swim School are partnering on additional swim school locations. The announcement came on December 10, 2009, at the annual Merritt Athletic Clubs holiday party. The Michael Phelps Swim School will expand from a single location at Meadowbrook Aquatics Center to include the Merritt Athletic Clubs’ Towson, Eldersburg, and Canton locations. In a statement released by Merritt Athletic Clubs, Andrew Barranco, Regional Aquatics Director, said, ‘This partnership combines the world-class vision and recognition of the Michael Phelps Swim School with Merritt Athletic Clubs’ services and facilities.’ The ultimate goal at the Michael Phelps Swim School is to develop the whole person physically and mentally. Swim classes include personal safety, stroke development, water sports and games, personal growth, and rescue skills. The Swim School insures that each participant has an opportunity to become very comfortable in the water. With over 27,000 members, Merritt Athletic Clubs is the most complete fitness organization in Maryland and was recently voted Baltimore’s Best Health Club by Baltimore Magazine. Starting January 2010, the public will be able to enroll in the Michael Phelps Swim School at Merritt Athletic Clubs.
