Tennessee's First Lady Helps Battle Childhood Obesity

“Obesity in Tennessee and many other states is a rising problem. On Monday, Tennessee First Lady Andrea Conte was trying to raise awareness about the problem and convince parents and their children to eat better foods. Conte hosted a nationally recognized nutritionist to speak to school children at the Governor's mansion. ‘Obviously, it's very important. We spend a lot of time talking about fitness, but fitness and nutrition go hand in hand,’ said Conte. Her guests included several middle school students. In line with an American Academy of Pediatrics recommendation Foco recommends five fruits or vegetables each day. Only two hours of television or video games and one hour of exercise.”
