Franklin Men, 90, Push To Keep Fit

“Every morning George ‘Duke’ Mellen starts his day off by eating a large bowl of fruit before heading to the Boston Sports Club. When he arrives at the gym sometime between 5:45 and 7 a.m., he hops on an exercise bike to ride a minimum of six miles before using the rowing machine for 10 minutes. Then he uses the weight machines and takes a yoga class. In fact, Mellen has become such a morning fixture at the gym that on the odd chance he doesn't make it in, staffers drive to his house to check on him. Roland Trahan works out at the club three mornings a week and walks a mile and a half on the treadmill. Though Mellen and Trahan's routines might seem typical, the two men never cease to amaze the club staff because they're a bit older than most of the clientele: Both Mellen and Trahan are 90...
