Fight Against Obesity: From Surgery To Shakes, More Overweight Americans Are Seeking Successful Solutions To Shed Unwanted Pounds

The CDC is proposing strategies local governments can take to help people lose weight. Gyms are also seeing an increase in business. A survey by the International Health, Racquet and Sportsclub Association found that despite the recession, since the beginning of 2009, most clubs have reported that their revenues have increased or remained the same. Leigh Nielsen, a personal trainer at Merritt Athletic Club in Eldersburg, said weight loss is the No. 1 reason members approach the personal training staff. Nielsen said exercise is something everyone can do as long as a person is ready to commit to the exercise. He said one of his mottos is that there is an alternative to everything. So those with an illness or an injury can still find ways to work out....
