Weakness In Wall Closes Club

A longtime Ocean City health club has closed after building inspectors found major structural problems. The bank that owns the club chose to padlock the doors rather than pay for repairs. ‘After 26 years at this location, we have no choice but to close,’ wrote Ocean City Health & Racquet Club owner Gerald Furst in a letter to members. ‘Our intentions were to give everyone adequate notice. However, the bank has come and closed our doors with minimal notice. My family and I are truly sorry for what has happened to our club.’ Furst said memberships will be frozen without further payment while he and his family decide whether they can continue the business...
