Cybex Outfits PGA Tour and Champions Tour with High Performance Fitness Equipment for Fitness and Therapy Trailers

“Cybex International, Inc., a leading manufacturer of premium exercise equipment for the commercial and consumer markets, was selected to outfit the PGA TOUR’s mobile fitness and therapy centers with the latest in high performance fitness equipment routinely used by the world’s best golfers. CYBEX treadmills, exercise bikes, Arc Trainers, FT-450 Functional Trainers, and adjustable benches have been installed in a total of four facilities – a clinical/therapy trailer and a fitness trailer for each PGA TOUR and Champions Tours. The trailers travel weekly to each tournament site to support the players throughout the season and are staffed by professional therapists, chiropractors and athletic trainers to assist players in rehabilitative and preventive care, and personal conditioning programs. ‘Higher levels of performance and injury prevention are critical to success on the PGA TOUR,’ states Scott Riehl, Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the PGA and Champions Tour. ‘The world’s best demand results and CYBEX equipment allows these players to exercise at higher levels of intensity without fear of injury or overuse. Our players love the versatility of the new FT-450 and there is usually a wait for the CYBEX Arc Trainer. CYBEX was the clear choice to outfit these mobile facilities.’ CYBEX worked closely with Riehl in selecting the right mix of product to suit the player’s varying performance needs. ‘This was a fun project for us,’ states John Marcotte, Vice President of North American Sales. ‘The players had a vote in the equipment brand and chose CYBEX based on results. We look forward to working closely with the world’s finest players and growing our relationship with the PGA TOUR.’ The four mobile units were totally revamped this year in conjunction with new sponsorship of the facilities by DePuy Mitek. As part of the overhaul, a committee of players was assembled to help select the new equipment to be installed.”
