Local Instructor Launches Youth MMA Classes

“Youngsters who have always wanted to try out Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) will soon have their chance. Starting this Tuesday (Jan. 12) the Alpine Health Club will hold MMA classes for kids ages 10 to 15. It's all part of the meteoric rise of the sport, said head instructor Troy Sorensen. ‘We've had an adult class since 2005 and now expanded it to include youth ten to fifteen.’ Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 7 to 8 p.m. Sorensen said some youths have, in the past, participated in the adult class.
