Fitness4less Shapes Up for Expansion

“Health and fitness operator Fitness4less has appointed Christie & Co to oversee a major acquisition and development programme across the UK. The operator first launched in Bristol in September 2007 aimed at offering an affordable health club. It is in the process of opening in Cambridge Heath, London, and in Birmingham, with both new clubs set to launch in the first quarter of 2010. It is looking for a pipeline of suitable locations to meet its growth targets. The group is seeking sites close to transport hubs with between 15,000 sq ft minimum to 20,000 sq ft of clear space on one or possibly two floors. Further requirements include 15 to 20 year leases and nearby car parking. Target locations include Birmingham, Brighton and Cardiff along with several key UK cities plus specific locations within London and the Home Counties. Jon Patrick, head of leisure at Christie & Co, said: ‘Whilst Fitness4Less is a relatively new addition to the health and fitness sector, the people behind the concept are long established operators with significant experience within the industry.’”
