Bellingham Woman Follows Passion By Helping Others Stay In Shape

“Cedar Tree Fitness offers one-on-one personal training with clients who want to get stronger, look healthier and lose weight. Owner Amy Van Pelt said she begins helping people by talking about their goals and then putting together a program to help improve their abilities and fitness. Van Pelt said she likes to start off slow to let clients build up their muscles and flexibility. One of the most important things about personal training is paying attention to ‘the total body,’ she said. ‘You need a strong core and upper body,’ she said. Van Pelt, 59, started Cedar Tree Fitness in January 2010. Van Pelt said she works with clients in a studio in her home, but also goes to client's homes upon request.
